My First Haircut & Santa!!

I finally took Mitchell in for his first haircut. Something my parents and my friend Holly have been bugging me for weeks to do! But Mitchell had some great curls and I didn't want to mess with them. But his hair was getting so long in the back that his curls were disappearing, so I knew it was time. My mom joined us to get her own pictures. We were going to go to this place in front of our Babies R Us called Fun Cuts for Kids where he would get to sit in a car, a train, or airplane, but it relocated to Parker Square which was too far away for us to drive. We ended up a Kiddo's Style Salon in the Stride Rite store where Ms. Sherri Mitchell (!!) cut his hair and she did a great job. I was a little disappointed in the change of locations, but this was okay too. When she brought out her comb, Mitchell grabbed it right away and then tried to comb his own hair. He loves to do that with his brush at home.

After we got his haircut we went to the mall to get our picture with Santa. We arrived 5 minutes after he went on his lunch break, so we went walking around the mall and I helped Mom get a gift for Matthew. But we got in line 15 minutes before Santa got back so we'd be first. Try spending time in a line with a 13-month-old who was tired of being in a stroller! The theme for the Santa area is The Island of Misfit Toys. At the back is the Abominable Snowman coming out of a box of sorts kind of like a slow Jack-in-the-Box. Mitchell loved it and waved Hi! and Bye! to him each time. Sometimes he got so excited he'd wave both arms. Then when it came time to see Santa he wasn't as cooperative as I'd hoped, but the cry baby picture is just as cute as the angelic child on Santa's lap.
