It's summertime, so why not have fun with a messy craft?! Laura is my messy child and I wanted to do some finger painting. She's also the child that will put anything and everything in her mouth, so it had to be safe finger paint. A quick Google search gave me "
Home-Made Finger Paint" that included vanilla pudding. PERFECT!
I went out and bought two things of pudding and a roll of banner paper that was the perfect size at M's. Mitchell helped create a special color of his own. We'll call it "MUD" since he had fun putting in as many drops of food coloring as possible.

The next step was to strip Laura down to a clean diaper because she was going to be a MESS! Mitchell was the good big brother and helped teach her what to do. But at first all she wanted to do was put he fingers in the pudding paint and squish them all around. Her favorites were the cups. Mitchell had fun sitting on the paper just making a monster.

Then the real fun started when Laura got bored with her color and started to crawl to the other colors. She was slipping all over the paint and giggling so hard! Mitchell got out of her way then and had fun moving stuff around so she'd go after it.

Then she got bored of that and decided to paint herself and squish the pudding all over. The most amazing thing is that nothing went in her hair. I was actually very shocked.

Mitchell discovered the green paint and decided he was going to make himself become the Incredible Hulk. If you notice in the left hand side the poor Molly dog was not allowed in on the action because she'd be harder to clean and not only that, she ate most of the teal "paint".

And it wasn't until the end that Laura put the paint in her mouth (another shocker!), but once she did she was no longer interested in using the paint anymore. She had more fun licking the canvas and if you sat her up again, she'd just lean back over with her little tongue hanging out. It was too cute!

And no, the clean-up was relativly easy. The food coloring I used didn't stain Laura or Mitchell and came out of his shorts and the old towels I used to wipe them.
