Fourth Fun

Happy Independence Day!!! Mitchell is still to young totally grasp the concept of the day and this was the first year that we really talked about fireworks. For Mitchell, July 4th is probably more about his cousin Aidan's birthday than Independence. Oh well, when he gets older he'll understand.

But we had a blast today even if it was a bit long. Mitchell's Nana and Poppa have a pool party breakfast since it gets really hot and the pool gets to warm in the afternoon. So we were there until 1 when we came home for much needed naps all around. Then it was time to head over to my cousin's house for his son's birthday. Aidan is 4 on the 4th this year! There was a small kiddie pool and a slip n slide down the slope in the backyard. Mitchell had lots of fun going down and I had lots of fun playing with the new camera and getting good shots. So here are a few:

Aidan-The birthday boy

Jayden- Aidan's good friend
Mitchell- Love this shot!!

Then presents, cake, and poppers. Mitchell was too busy running around to eat cake, but he had a blast with the poppers. After the party we headed to Gramps and Memama's house and played with sparklers there. He was able to run with them for a little while but he didn't quite grasp where to hold on, so we eventually made him stay in one place. The funny part was that we told him to hold them low to the ground and he held it so close to the ground I thought for sure the grass would catch on fire! Then we headed towards home with a quick stop to watch fireworks for the first time. Mitchell was slightly impressed, but afterawhile wanted to get back into the car to go home. It was over an hour past his bedtime. The funniest thing was we were in the car and he'd yell "Mommy! Fireworks! Take pictures!"

So the picture is blurry, but I haven't figured out how to take good pictures in low light situations with a moving target. Next year's pictures will be better, I promise!!!

Watching fireworks with Daddy.
