Duck Feet

Mitchell had started asking for "duck feet" for Nana & Papa's pool last weekend, so Nana hunted throughout the area (seriously) and finally found Mitchell some cool Duck Feet AND children's "gobbles". Mitchell did not want to use his monkey ring aka swimming pool security blanket anymore. YEAH!! He immediately wanted to jump into the pool and was slightly bewildered when the duck feet didn't make him float. Mommy was there to pick him up though. Mitchell was so cute in his goggles and duck feet!Daddy was able to help Mitchell kick with them because these things are about the size of the poor kids leg! Mommy tried to help at first, but it was quickly learned that the Laura Belly (10 days!!!!) was most definitely in the way! But I was just as happy behind the camera. :)

Daddy was also able to convince Mitchell that with the "gobbles" on that he could see underwater and it wouldn't hurt his eyes. It took about 15 minutes to convince him. But once he did believe Daddy, he LOVED putting his head underwater. Another milestone! Mommy is so proud! Then they perfected the underwater high-five technique. Mitchell would jump out to Daddy and swim while doing his best to kick the behemoth duck feet. It was so sweet how he'd jump out and then quickly wrap his arms around Daddy's neck.
Molly, the very fierce protector, watched the whole process from the side of the pool, of course. Nothing shall come to harm to her boys when she's watching them!
And a cute video of Mitchell being his now fearless self in the pool. He loved picking up the rocket by himself. Of course this means that he has to be watched extremely close in the pool now. But, of course, we are so proud of him!

I also like this video because it shows off the fact that Mitchell has my wonderful easy-to-tan skin coloring versus his Daddy's side which is VERY White(go figure!) in that Matthew is the most tan.
