Safari!

Today we went to the Indoor Safari Park with friends. It was Mitchell's second trip to one and both times the safari part took a back seat to something else. We had fun with our friends and that is what matters most, but I will say that the Indoor Safari Park is not worth the money they make you pay. HOWEVER, the normal $9.99 play pass gets you two rides on the train but they don't really count how many times you go hence Miss Ellie riding the train at least 6 times so I guess you could get your money out of it if you wanted to. The other thing is that there is no freebie for the child under one. You would think since they really can't play in anything they wouldn't make you pay.

Now on to the fun stuff. Mitchell and Ellie had fun playing in the ball pit for a little while until Mitchell discovered the play tables and losing his Legoman Flashlight in the ball pit probably had something to do with it also. They have about 6 play tables in the Park. One had 4 or 5 Pirate ships to play with and Mitchell is in a bit of a Pirate phase right now, but next week it'll be something else. The good thing was that close inspection showed me that there really wasn't anything too small for Laura to swallow, so she got to join in on the fun.
It took me awhile to convince Mitchell to go ride the train and once he did he had lots of fun, but one time was enough for him.
But as you can see the track wasn't that big and all the animals on the safari were fake, but then again I don't think real animals would be appropriate. But since when did you see Panda Bears in Africa?!Then Mitchell got to ride the robotic dinosaur (really?!) and he liked it and immediately wanted to go again, but you only ride once. Plus ALL the boys wanted the dinosaur. The poor Rhino didn't get anyone to ride him. :(They had a separate area for toddlers and Laura spent some time in there. They had a slide she had fun crawling up and then sliding down. Plus she got in some practice standing by herself. She only stands up for a few seconds, but this evening she stood for quite a long time!
