Zachary at two months:
- He chunked up a ton, just like his brother. The difference between one month and two amazes me.
- He now smiles at you and loves to look at his reflection. He also likes to talk and coo.
- He kind of likes tummy time, but doesn't like to move his head side-to-side. He just keeps looking in one direction and sucking on his hand.
- He has his own unique schedule. He doesn't really like to eat the same amount of ounces at a time, nor does he like really eating at the same time unless it's at night.
- He's a big cluster eater. He has to eat at 4,6, and 8 and for a few weeks there he was getting at least two ounces every hour between 4 & 10 and sometimes 11. The pedi then told us to put a small amount of rice cereal in hisbottle and we now have our new two-hour routine.
- He sleeps the best at night after 8 and into the morning. He likes to sleep upright, so he sleeps in the swing or the glider. I don't know what I'm going to do when he gets bigger.
- He is the fussiest between 6 & 8 when he wants to eat RIGHT after the 6 bottle even though he's full. AND he wants to be held for most of the time between. This is why Matthew being gone at night is tough. Poor kid has to just cry and cry while I do bedtime routines for Laura & Mitchell and gets me more and more agitated because what Mommy likes to hear their baby cry for them?!
- And he doesn't really just cry, he screams and he screams loud.
It's tough to write this out and do it where I don't sound whiny, but I don't know how to write it any other way. He's a great baby during the day, but not as much at night. I'm incredibly blessed to have three great children and a wonderful husband. I'm just tired and if you know me well, you know that me and tiredness do not do well, especially after a long period of time, you know, like two months. There is just a few things going on in my life right now and as my great-grandmother Nana was fond of saying "this too shall pass", so I'm not-so-patiently waiting for the day that I can at least sleep through the night and then maybe, just maybe, I won't be so tired and that will mean I won't be so easily annoyed.
So after all that, let me leave you with a picture that had me laughing. Zachary doesn't have control of his hands and arms yet, but most of the time while I was taking pictures he looked like he wanted to fight Fred and this picture captured it perfectly.
