Children's Aquarium

Gramps and Memama bought Matthew tickets for the whole family to go to the Children's Aquarium. It was a great activity for a hot July saturday. The Aquarium is by no means big, but it's the perfect size for little ones who don't have huge attention spans. The best part was where we got to pet and feed the Sting rays. They were so slimy and tickled a bit when they ate out of your hand.

Laura first wanted to see the "Horses".
Touching a sting ray. Z was the only kid not really scared at first, but then they all tried. Laura actually preferred jumping off the rocks at first.

It took Mitchell awhile to feed them but it wasn't that easy. You had to hold the fish in your fist near the tail and then put your hand in with the fish standing up as much as possible since the ray's mouth is on the bottom. It took me a little while because once they realize that you have food they all come swimming up to you. It's hard to hold the fish upright then.

Z is so use to the Mamarazzi that he just sat on the "rocks" and smiled for me and I got a couple of cute pictures, but soon enough this little guy swam right up and smiled for me too!
This Zebra Shark circled the tank and looked like it was heading toward Mitchell at one point.
 TURTLE!!!
 This octopus is attacking me!!

Z loved watching the jellyfish move around. He was fascinated by them. The older kids- not so much.
At the touching pond looking at horseshoe crabs, sea urchins, sea anemone, crabs, and my favorite- the Chocolate Chip Sea Star.
