This year Mitchell was able to appreciate more of the fireworks than before. We went over to my parents house to do some sparklers in the backyard and then to watch the fireworks in the next town over. Last year we had accidentally stumbled upon a great place to watch them on our way home from their house, so this year Gramps, Memama, and Uncle Max joined us. Mitchell loved watching the big rockets and didn't even mind the booms after awhile. Of course, we weren't that close, so they weren't as loud.

The Sparklers we had this year were almost a complete BUST. They were extremely hard to light and there weren't as many in the package. You had to light one with another because matches and the flame throwers for the grill were not working. At Gramps & Memama's Mtchell didn't want any part of them. They didn't go up into the air like rockets, so therefore they weren't "cool", I guess. But at home Mitchell finally got into them and ran around with Daddy for a little while. They ran, they made circles, and drove Molly crazy.

Matthew had received a box with some fireworks in it from someone and we had fun setting quite a few of them off. They didn't go any higher than our fence, plus with the rain we had had in the past few days there wasn't much worry. Which was good because as most people who read this know, I'm REALLY afraid of fire. Of course, Matthew said thank goodness it had rain because we wouldn't have been able to do them because he's "not stupid after all". One of the fireworks was crickets or something like that and they spewed quite a bit of fireworks and was rather loud. They were pretty cool.

Another one were these eyeballs that spun around for awhile spewing fire and then burst into big fireworks. I think Mitchell thought those were the coolest ones.

The Amazing Fountain ones were my personal favorites. They looked pretty cool going off and even Mitchell who was abit taken aback at first came out closer to watch with Daddy.

Then there was another one that was so bright that we couldn't really even look at it.

The aftermath of the fireworks on our driveway.
