Matthew is extremely patient with the kiddos which is a great attribute to have as coach of 4-year-olds. We're also pretty sure that Mitchell is the most unfocused of the 6 kids on the team. He did a lot of transforming on the field and a few Lego people dance moves. He wasn't alone in the dancing category though which prompted Memama to say that if we had a stereo with us the kids would've danced instead of play soccer.
The final score was a 4-4 tie, but the first goal scored was the other team scoring in their own goal and it was a complete accident. Mitchell's team is in blue.
Mitchell saw this picture and asked, "Is that me? I need to run!" He did some good running, but the kid with the ball in this pic is G and he's the best player we've got.
- One child from the other team was so excited that his sister was watching him after her game finished that during every break in the action he would run off the field and hug her.
- Another kid on the other team started crying after G scored a goal. His Dad yelled after him "It's okay! That's going to happen sometimes!" Didn't seem to make the kid feel any better though.
- At one point, Kirk (a family friend watching the game with us) yelled out "Mitchell! Focus buddy! FOCUS!"
- Numerous times the ball went way out of bounds only to have the kids follow it in a huddle not paying any attention that they were out.
- The other team so close to the goal and all the parents yelling "Kick it in! Kick it In!" only to have the ball seem to stay still while six pairs of legs kicked wildly at it. The ball ended up never going in.
