Those of you who have been around a group of 4 year olds for any length of time knows that keeping them focused on the objective for more than a minute can be a challenge. This should be a fun season because not only is Mitchell playing his first team sport, but he's playing with his BFF London. I'm going to start taking bets on how long it takes Mitchell to try to tackle London in the middle of a game. I'm thinking halfway through the first one. Some of them decided to just dribble the balls for awhile themselves, one brought his Mommy a flower (so cute!), one decided to try dancing for a little while(which prompted his Mommy to yell "We're playing Soccer now! SOCCER!), and of course Mitchell decided that transforming would be a fun thing to do for a little while also.
One of the drills Matthew had them do was pass the ball to each other. The boys did a pretty good job, but as you can see Mitchell had to stop because he got something in his eye from transforming. It's too bad because London had passed the ball perfectly!
All in all the kiddos had a blast playing together. Mitchell is already talking about playing soccer with his new friends and one kid said "Look at my new friends!" Craziest thing though. One of the kiddos' mom is a former yearbook student of mine. Of course, she was a senior my first year and I was only 23 when I started, so it's only a five year age difference, but still kind of weird. We have a mutual friend and she said she thought it was weirder that I knew the other girl, but did think it was kind of weird our kids were on the same team.
Laura had fun watching the boys practice and spending a few minutes looking at her friend Gavin, who had fun looking at her. Not much two babies can do without staring at each other. I did manage to get this great pic of Laura on the first try! She's such a cutie says the biased Mommy.
